The Valdese Public Library is located at 213 St. Germain Avenue. For information about the library, call (828) 874-2421 during operating hours.
The library has several computers for accessing the internet. An assistant is regularly available to guide users unfamiliar with operating computers or using the Internet for research purposes. Audio Books and VCR tapes are also available at the Valdese Library. An affiliated organization, the Friends of the Library, can be reached at (828) 437-5638. This organization raised $6,500 in 2001 for its summer reading program. It's primary fund-raiser is an annual book sale at which donated books are sold to Friends of the Library members on Friday evening then to the general public on Saturday. They welcome volunteers and encourage everyone to become a member at one of the following giving levels.
