Since September of 1947, the Valdese Rotary Club (District 7670) has been a part of Rotary International, whose mission is to unite the efforts of area businessmen and women to provide beneficial services to the community. The local chapter boasts forty-five total members and meets each Tuesday at noon in the Old Rock School. Following is some information about the Club and contact information should you have questions or be interested in joining.

THE ROTARY CLUB SCHOLARSHIPEach year, the Rotary Club of Valdese awards a number of scholarships of up to $1,000 each. These scholarships are awarded to students living in Burke County who plan to attend either a two year or four year college or university. Graduating high school students, enrolled college students, or others planning to attend college for the first time are eligible to apply. Applicants must have at least a 2.5 grade point average. While the emphasis is on first year students, recipients may re-apply each year.
