Founded in 1945 by Loy Ray Burris, Sr., The Rock Drug Store has witnessed many changes in Valdese and has even experienced a few of its own. Originally, the store was located beside the Old Rock School but in 1970, the store moved to its current location at 240 West Main Street. The Rock Drug Store offers a drive-through window for prescriptions, free delivery, and a fountain area with food served from 9:00am until 2:00pm. They also provide Western Union and MoneyGram service, collect payments for Centel and TCI, and film development. The pharmacists at the Rock Drug Store are: Loy Ray Burris, Jr., Anne Garrou, and Ann Edwards. The pharmacists' technicians are: Margaret Clarke, Laura Jarrett, and Beth French.
