Founded in 1961 by Frances Swofford and Eloise Link, Mimosa Beauty Salon has served countless satisfied customers in Valdese. Currently run by Mrs. Swofford (Mrs. Link retired in 1997), the Salon sits at the end of the block across from Town Hall and next to Myra's. Besides Frances, three other stylists work at Mimosa: Kellie Melton, Monica Ellis, and Julie Epps. Combined, the four have over 65 years of experience in hair-styling. Frances credits the arrival of these three with bringing new energy and spark to the business. Indeed, one need only spend a few minutes inside amidst the chatter and laughing to see that this is a close family.
