The company attributes much of its success to having knowledgeable salespeople to sell top quality lines of merchandise, offering quick delivery and installation, competitive pricing, and service beyond the sale. Their mission statement reflects their values and beliefs, "To honor God in all that we do, to be a blessing to all people, to continually pursue excellence, and, lastly, to grow profitably. They officer General Electric, Frigidaire, and Maytag appliances and Zenith, Toshiba, and JVC televisions of all sizes, including widescreen and HDTV. Also available is home audio equipment, recliners, and furniture for the bedroom or living room. Recently added were Dell computers. Major Electric is a certified Murray Service center. The store is open from 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Monday through Friday and from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Located at 148 East Main Street in Valdese, NC. Major Electric has offered a full range of home appliances and outdoor products for many years. Founded in October 1946 by Alexis Guigou and his son, John A. Guigou to sell GE appliances, the company soon expanded to provide toys, sporting goods, and household products from other manufacturers. Later, Major Electric would narrow its focus to household appliances so that they could guarantee the highest quality service. John became the sole proprietor in the 1970s and incorporated Major Electric in 1988 when his grandson, Mitchell, became a part owner and operator. In April 2004, Major Electric was purchased by Dana Hallyburton, Brian Hildebrand, and Kyle Hildebrand. Dana's husband, Ed, is General Manager of the store.
