Pioneered by William D. Schubert, The Historic Valdese Foundation serves to preserve and promote the rich history of our community. Started in 1970, the group serves as an umbrella agency for future and existing community projects. The foundation lends support to community groups in areas of funding, publicity, and organization. From its offices in the Old Rock School, HVF oversees the annual Waldensian Festival, manages the Old Rock School auditorium, and serves as a conduit between many of the towns heritage-based organizations. The Community Affairs Department for the Town of Valdese manages much of the business side of HVF. The following table shows the current Board of Directors.
