IMPORTANT
INFORMATION

Boy Scout Troop #192 is sponsored by the Waldensian Presbyterian Church. Currently there are approximately twenty-five scouts of all eligible ages participating in the troop. Troop #192 meets every Monday when school is in session at the Scout Hut on Massel Avenue. Meetings are from 7:30pm until 9:00pm.

This troop, originally Valdese Boy Scout Troop #1, was organized January 29, 1931, with twenty-eight members. Ben Shytle was the Scoutmaster, assisted by Daniel Bounous. During their early years, the scouts sponsored "rides" that came to Valdese, and used the proceeds to build a scout cabin on the Catawba River, complete with a diving platform and a spring water shower.
